Presence & Purpose is a hands-on, high-impact public speaking workshop designed specifically for non-profit professionals, community leaders, + anyone who wants to communicate with more clarity, confidence, + connection in the work they do - whether they're presenting to funders, facilitating community events, or speaking up in leadership settings.

Across two in-person sessions, participants will explore practical tools, mindset shifts, + real-world strategies to help them speak with purpose, handle nerves, + bring more presence to the moments that matter.

This isn't about performing, it's about showing up fully + delivering your message in a way that feels grounded, clear, + true to your values.

Facilitator

Kahla Evans is a Public Speaking and Confidence Coach, TEDx Speaker Coach, and experienced facilitator who helps professionals and leaders communicate with clarity, confidence, and purpose.

With over 20 years of experience behind the mic, Kahla’s career spans broadcasting, live events, education, and global non-profit work. Her background includes extensive on-air experience with major media networks such as CTVCBC, and Global News, serving as an in-game host for the Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose, and coaching speakers for TEDx stages. Her work has also taken her into community and international spaces, including collaboration with organizations such as World Vision, where clear, values-driven communication is essential.

Kahla brings this breadth of experience into practical, hands-on workshops designed to support non-profit professionals, community leaders, and teams who want to speak with credibility, presence, and confidence - whether they’re presenting to funders, facilitating community conversations, or stepping into leadership roles.

Her approach blends mindset, skill-building, and real-world application, helping participants feel grounded, prepared, and trusted in the moments that matter most.

Course Cancellation Policy

Volunteer Manitoba may decide to cancel or postpone any event where the minimum registration level has not been met. In the case of low in-person registration, Volunteer Manitoba may decide to host the workshop virtually instead. If you wish to not participate virtually, you will receive a full refund.

All participants registered for an event that is cancelled by Volunteer Manitoba will receive a full refund.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations received within 10 days of the event. Registered participants who fail to attend an event are still required to pay for that event, since a space was held specifically for that person. In case of non-attendance and lack of payment, the registered participant will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice.
