Community fundraising, also known as third-party fundraising, can help organizations expand their reach by engage new supporters!
This workshop is informed by the innovative community fundraising approach that has had significant success at a local Manitoba-based charity. Our facilitators will share real-world success stories and practical strategies from their experience.
Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to support community fundraisers while creating opportunities for long-term partnership.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the culture and capacity required to deliver an effective and innovative community fundraising program
- Learn how to create an empowering support system for community fundraisers, including practical tools informed by sector best practices and real world success.
- Discover ways to reduce barriers for community fundraisers and foster long-term relationships
- Build a strategy to turn one-time events into annual, mission-aligned partnerships
- Consider the important role of third-party/community fundraising in expanding your donor base and what might mean for your broader fundraising strategy.
Facilitators
Andrew Kussy, CFRE is an experienced fundraising and communications professional. He has been working with organizations across Canada in the non-profit sector both as a fundraiser and consultant since 2013.
Andrew is currently working as the Executive Director of The Dream Factory, a Manitoba-based children's charity that creates experiences for children battling life-threatening illnesses. As an active volunteer and experienced facilitator, Andrew has served on many boards and regularly delivers fundraising training to community groups.

Chelsea Walker is a community fundraising professional with over 10 years of experience in the non-profit sector. As the Community Giving Manager at The Dream Factory, Chelsea leads the organization's third-party events program. She specializes in building strong relationships and empowering supporters to lead meaningful, community-driven fundraising initiatives.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Winnipeg and is a graduate of the AFP Leadership Institute, an international program for emerging leaders in fundraising.
